How do I check my University of Idaho E-mail using Microsoft Entourage? (POP)
 

  1. Open Entourage.
     
  2. Go to the Tools and select Accounts (See Figure 1).

  3. Click on New as shown in Figure 2.

  4. For Account Type choose POP and click OK.

  5. For the Account Name, enter Uidaho.
     
  6. Type in Your Name as you want it to appear in your e-mails (See Figure 4).

  7. Type in your E-mail address (username@uidaho.edu).
     
  8. Under Account ID, type in your username (Everything before the '@' symbol in your e-mail address).
     
  9. For the POP server, type: mail.uidaho.edu.
     
  10. For the SMTP server, type: mail.uidaho.edu.
     
  11. For the Password, type in your Novell/AD password.
     
  12. Under Receiving Mail click on Click here for advanced receiving options.

  13. Make sure to check the first box to require SSL, and then click on the little square in the top left corner of the advanced receiving box to close.
     
  14. Under Sending Mail, click on Click here for advanced sending options.

  15. Check SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).
     
  16. Check SMTP server requires authentication and have Use same settings as my receiving mail server selected.
     
  17. Click on the little square in the top left of pop up box to close the advanced options.
     
  18. Now you can now click on OK to go back to the Accounts Box.  You can close this box to return to Entourage.

You may now check your mail by pressing the Send/Receive button.
