  Exchange Manual Setup for Outlook 2007    


  1. Click on Start and then select Control Panel.
     
  2. Select Classic View, and then double-click the Mail icon.

  3. Select Show Profiles.

  4. Click Add


     
  5. Enter UI-Exchange for your profile name and select OK. 

     
     
  6. Select the check box for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.

  7. Choose Microsoft Exchange and click Next.

  8. Enter EXVS1.its.uidaho.edu for the Microsoft Exchange server and make sure to check Use Cached Exchange Mode.


     
  9. Type your full name or your Username and select More Settings...
     
  10. You will get an error, click OK.  Next you will get a password dialog box.  Click Cancel at this time to return to More Settings.
     
  11. Click on the Connection tab.  Check the box for Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP and then click on Exchange Proxy Settings...

  12. Fill in the https:// box with mail.uidaho.edu.

  13. Check the box for On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP.
     
  14. At the bottom change Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange: to be Basic Authentication.  Then click OK.
     
  15. Click Finish on the Congratulations page.

  16. Select Close on the Account Settings page.

  17. Select Close again to exit Mail Setup.
     
  18. Make sure to set the Always use this profile to the UI-Exchange profile you have just finished creating.


     
  19. Click OK to exit out of the Mail options window.
     
  20. Close out of the Control Panel.
     
  21. Now open Outlook.  Your new profile should come up by default. 
     
  22. You will use your UI e-mail address for your User Name and then your Novell/AD password.
     
  23. It will take a few minutes to load up the first time and then you should see your folders, mail and calendar on the left hand side of the screen.
